I know there are so many blog platform out there and that when you decided to start a Christian blog you considered them all , searching for the one that fit you. But in my opinion, the best solution for starting a site, no matter what is the domain, is to have your own domain. Instead of telling your friends that your address is YourSiteName.blogplatform.com you will say that the address is YourSiteName.com, sounds more neat and serious.
Consider investing a few dollars and have your own domain name
Plus that you can do whatever you want on your domain. Blog platforms comes with limitations, they give you rights to do things, but also constraints. When you have the domain name, you can change the hosting platform whenever you want!You can add server scripts, you can change your site to fit your needs.
Maybe that free blogging platform will not be free after a while and force you to pay a monthly fee, so you will be on the same situation as when purchasing hosting and a domain name, but you’ll have a blog under a subdomain name when you could have built your own brand under YourSiteName.com.
So, IMO, instead of using a blog platform install WordPress for ex under your own domain name and have your own Christian blog on your own domain name. It will be a bit more trickier than starting a blog on a blogging platform and it will also cost a few dollars but on long term it will be better.

Christian blogs and Christian podcasting
I am speaking again about Christian blogs. I want you to understand how I feel about blogging. I really think that for a Christian, blogs are a great opportunity to express himself/herself. Think about the possibility to have people read what you say.
How about a Christian podcast?
Think also about a Christian podcast, to publish your sermons. Did you ever think about that? A Christian podcast would be a fantastic thing to have! Christian blogs are fine, but a Christian podcast would be really great, people would really listen you!
People could visit your site everyday and listen to you as they would be right beside you. A Christian podcast would be a great site for you and your community.

I used to think a lot about the fact that most of my friends, about 5-6 years ago looked at the internet as being a read-only medium. No interaction, just reading, browsing, etc. The most daring interaction was mIRC back then, but it was not a very complex one. Now I look at the fact that it is sooo easy to have a Christian blog of your own, to start spreading your ideas on the net with 0 effort. If you don’t even want to buy your domain name or hosting, no sweat, have your Christian blog on WordPress or on Blogger, on other free service!Doesn’t matter, it is just about communicating your ideas.
When free web hosting appeared, web hosting companies offered you tool for building your site, so you can build your own site in minutes. But it still was something particular to that provider implementation. With today’s blog platforms it is very easy to have your Christian blog in minutes.
Also you can use some CMS system such as Mambo or Joomla which are also open source so you can have alternatives to WordPress or other blogging software. There are so many possibilities, just dare to write, have your own idea spreader

Christian MySpace layouts dropped a bit
Well, Christian MySpace layouts dropped a bit, so I don’t quite know either to be happy or sad about it. I think I will be happy Because even if the traffic went down a bit, because of these keywords going down, I think that the quality of my traffic increased. With MySpace Christian layouts targeted visitors my revenues dropped a bit also.
The only “problem”I have is that if I am going to blog some more about this topic, I will earn again my lost traffic
